Otto Ristorante | Brisbane, Australia

I always have high expectations for the affogato when I go to an Italian restaurant or cafe. Otto has an excellent location and view of the Story Bridge in Brisbane city. The vibe of the restaurant is also great and their service was exceptional.

We were at the restaurant for a team Christmas dinner and without exception the meals impressed us all. Then came the part of the evening when the restaurant has their best chance to leave their final mark.... the affogato time. My addiction has rubbed off on this team and nearly everyone in the group are now hopelessly addicted to affogatos!

The presentation of this affogato was excellent, modern and unique. The coffee was strong and the overall experience impressive. There was one major flaw however. The ice-cream emulsifiers did not work and the fat particles had separated. It was very disappointing given that everything else was so good. There was also too much ice cream so the ration between coffee and ice cream would have also been wrong.

I would still recommend Otto and be wary of the ice cream problem. I rated it 3.7 beans.
