Shaky Isles Coffee Co. | Auckland Airport, New Zealand

After two and a half weeks in South America, I landed in Auckland on the way back to Brisbane. Walking through the terminal following the signs for international connections I found myself walking past the Shaky Isles Coffee Company cafe. While it was 4.35am, the thought of a decent strong coffee over a cold french vanilla ice cream was too great to dismiss so I checked the menu board and saw the affogato listed. (It is never too early for an affo anyway)

I ordered their best, and while it was on the menu the attendant did not know what I meant. Luckily there was another person who explained it to her and away we went. I am not sure if it was just the withdrawal from so long away from decent coffee, but I was very impressed with the affogato that was delivered.

Not restaurant quality in terms of presentation but great strong coffee and an excellent cafe quality affogato. I rated it 3.6 out of 5.
